Trevoh Chalobah has described Nicolas Jackson as a “very good player.”
Chalobah recently returned from a long injury lay off and has started the last two Premier League games.
The 24 year old has returned to a side that is struggling for consistency under Mauricio Pochettino but not one that lacks quality.
Jackson was signed last summer from Villareal for £32m and despite showing some inconsistencies he is having a good debut campaign in England.
The 22 year old has scored 12 goals in 31 appearances in all competitions with his most recent a clever flick in Monday’s win against Newcastle.
Chalobah believes Jackson is a real asset to the team in the way he stretches the pitch with his movement and takes pressure off his team mates.
When asked about the Senegalese international Chalobah told London World: “He is a very good player, getting the goals this season. He brings that dimension of going in behind and taking players in behind which is very good to take the pressure off other players.”
“If you have a striker who is willing to run in behind a lot it helps us.”
“That is the side of the game that he brings and he’s adding goals which is good.”
Jackson will be hoping to add to his goal tally in the FA Cup quarter final against Leicester at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
