According to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Spanish giants Real Madrid are monitoring Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander Arnold’s contract situation at Anfield.
The English defender has risen through the academy ranks at Liverpool and has made over 300 appearances for his parent club. He also won eight major titles under Jurgen Klopp.
The fans eye him as a local hero due to his loyalty to the club. He has given his best on the field and has pushed the wing-attack strategy to a completely different level along with Andrew Robertson.
The club will undergo a major overhaul this summer. Manager Klopp will leave the club along with his staff. Michael Edwards has taken the role as the club’s next CEO, and Richard Hughes will join as the new sporting director.
The Reds will now be aiming to offer new contracts to their key senior players. Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Alexander-Arnold are the first names on this list.

The latter’s contract will expire in the summer of 2025. There isn’t much time left before other clubs will exploit this situation and go all out to sign such a gem of a player.
Real Madrid’s interest in Alexander-Arnold is a sign of concern for Klopp’s Liverpool
Madrid’s interest is a huge one as the La Liga side target players that they seriously want to sign. There have been instances where they have signed players in the final year of their contract.
Los Blancos did the same with Thibaut Courtois, Eduardo Camavinga and Toni Kroos. Fiorentina Perez has already started planning his next superstar move with an eye on Kylian Mbappe and Alphonso Davies’ expected arrival this summer.

Signing Alexander-Arnold would turn their team into world beaters. The Liverpool right-back will be a quality replacement for Dani Carvajal who is already 32-years-old.
However, it will be interesting to see whether the Reds allow the player to leave or convince him to sign a new contract and spend the rest of his years at Anfield.
