According to journalist Steve Kay of Football Transfers, Liverpool and Newcastle United are interested in the services of Eintracht Frankfurt sensation Hugo Larsson.
The 19-year-old has been on the radar of several Premier League clubs for quite some time. He had turned down the opportunity to move to Bournemouth in January as he wanted to stay at develop in Germany.
Larsson also trained with Chelsea when he was 17, but he preferred to stay at Malmo as he believed that it was too soon for him to make a big leap.
However, due to his impressive performances for Frankfurt, he has now been targeted by clubs like Liverpool, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur.

His agent is in discussions with these clubs and more clubs are expected to join this race. The Swedish midfielder’s contract with his current club will expire in 2028 and hence, we can expect that the player won’t be available for cheap.
Liverpool are looking for a long-term replacement for Thiago Alcantara. The veteran defensive midfielder is said to be leaving the club this summer amid interest from Saudi Arabian clubs.
The Reds are impressed by Larsson’s versatility in defence and also his creativity in attack. He could be a valuable addition considering that he has all the time on earth to get enough experience with the senior players in the squad.
Tottenham could lose Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg in the upcoming months and they are targeting the Frankfurt youngster to fill the void.
Newcastle are also looking for cover for Brazilian star Bruno Guimaraes who might leave the club in the future amid high interest from European clubs.

Hence, this will be an intense three-way battle and it can further grow depending on the player’s performances in the closing stages of the season. Frankfurt have not disclosed an official fee for Larsson.
However, it is believed that the player might not be released for cheap and the German club would be working to extract maximum profit through him.
It remains to be seen whether Liverpool can strike an agreement with the Eagles this summer.
