Chelsea FC’s erratic turns continue with the departure of another coach. Former Tottenham Hotspur and Paris Saint-Germain man Mauricio Pochettino is out after just a year on the job, throwing the Blues’ nascent project into turmoil again.
According to reports, two Bayern Munich ex-coaches are in the conversation to take over. One is Thomas Tuchel, who led Chelsea to a Champions League victory prior to being sacked and arriving in Bavaria.
First up, here is Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg, who also names departing Brighton coach Roberto De Zerbi — who could follow in the shoes of another Brighton man, Graham Potter:
Now the decision has been made, which Thomas #Tuchel has also been waiting for this week. Mauricio #Pochettino is set to leave Chelsea as per @Matt_Law_DT.
➡️ As reported: a return to FC Chelsea is a concrete option for Tuchel, as he does not yet see his mission there as complete. Loose talks took place! #CFC
➡️ Roberto De Zerbi, another candidate for Chelsea!

Sport Bild’s Christian Falk names Hansi Flick, Bayern’s sextuple winner, as also in the conversation:
After dismissal of Mauricio Pochettino:❇️ Hansi Flick is interested in the Manager Job at @ChelseaFC
❇️ Flick was already discussed in the past at Chelsea
However, FC Barcelona looks the more likely destination for the former Bayern and Germany coach as he reportedly does not have interest in the Blues’ job.
Flick, De Zerbi, and Tuchel himself were all candidates to succeed Tuchel at one point or another. Around and around the coaching merry-go-round goes.
