Bayern Munich forward and England captain Harry Kane was a revelation in his first season in the Bundesliga. While his career remains trophyless unfortunately, he shared his thoughts regarding his teammates who played in Munich on opening night of EURO 2024 [#EURO2024, @iMiaSanMia]:
Harry Kane on Germany’s win over Scotland: “They had a fantastic game. I’ve got a lot of teammates playing in that team, I’m sure they’re delighted with their start to the tournament. Kane’s thoughts on Germany’s opener in full:
“They had a fantastic game. I’ve got a lot of teammates playing in that team, I’m sure they’re delighted with their start to the tournament. They have a lot of fantastic players. I wish them all the best, but my focus of course is on England and our game tomorrow night against Serbia”
Kane settled well into the Bundesliga and made a reasonable case for player of the season despite Bayern winning exactly zero trophies. He nearly matched Robert Lewandowski’s single season record for the highest number of goals in a Bundesliga season. Kane has won respect across Germany and perhaps, if not at the Euros, he might finally win a trophy next season with Bayern.
