AFC Bournemouth will host UEFA Champions League opposition on Saturday 10th August when Spanish La Liga side Girona visit Dean Court.
Girona enjoyed a third-place finish in the top flight of Spanish football last term, finishing behind Real Madrid and Barcelona, but ahead of European giants Atletico Madrid.
AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola also welcomes his former club Rayo Vallecano, now managed by Iraola’s former assistant Inigo Perez, to the south coast on Sunday 4th August.
It was widely reported that Inigo Perez was due to make the move to the Cherries when Iraola was first appointed as head coach, but work permits and visas scuppered the move.
This in turn left Perez to be in the right place at the right time to make his own move into management and he was appointed as the Spanish side’s head coach in February. Rayo Vallecano went on to narrowly avoid relegation from La Liga last season.
Two more friendlies confirmed ✔️

A lot of regular posters seem to hate friendlies and I understand some of the reasons so plenty of newer fans will have an opportunity to buy.
If the ground is empty then the club knows they got wrong. But it won’t be.
Harrogate charging £12 for their home friendlies – is that a rip off too given the quality of the players on show? – To join the conversation, click here.
