31-year-old Kieffer Moore is unlikely to feature in AFC Bournemouth head coach Andoni Iraola’s plans much for the upcoming 2024/25 campaign.
Dominic Solanke is the clear first choice option up front with further options added with Enes Unal and Antoine Semenyo.
Last season, Moore made just 8 Premier League substitute appearances, totaling 100 minutes and scoring once. His style of play simply doesn’t suit Iraola, with the Cherries expected to press from the front.
He would go on to spend the second half of the season on loan with Championship side Ipswich Town, where he made 18 appearances, starting 14 times and scoring 7 goals as Ipswich won promotion to the Premier League, at the expense of both Leeds United and Southampton who had to settle for a play-off place, with the latter eventually securing promotion.
The Cherries signed Moore from Cardiff City during the January transfer window in 2022 for a reported fee of £ 3.5 million, with Moore signing a three-and-a-half-year deal.
He would go on to cement his place in AFC Bournemouth folklore just a few short months later, scoring the goal to secure promotion to the Premier League on a famous night at Dean Court against Nottingham Forest.
Moore has remained as popular with Cardiff City supporters during his time away from the club and has been regularly linked with a move back to the Welsh club.
WalesOnline have reported that sources close to the club “have refused to rule out Cardiff going back in for the Wales striker, who has a year left on his Bournemouth deal“.
