Dom Smith of The Standard reports that Emile Smith Rowe’s move from Arsenal to Fulham is expected to be announced on Wednesday, July 31st.
Dharmesh Sheth of Sky Sports shared a video on Tuesday showing Smith Rowe leaving his Fulham medical with his agent Jordan Wise.
Sheth wrote that the move was at the final paperwork stage before being confirmed, with the player ready to fly to Portugal soon for Fulham’s pre-season training camp.
Smith Rowe left Arsenal’s training camp earlier this week to complete his move, after the Gunners reached an agreement with Fulham.
Fulham will pay an initial fee of £27m, with add-ons potentially taking the total to £34m.
Fabrizio Romano reported that Marco Silva was key to the deal, convincing Smith Rowe to join Fulham ahead of the many other clubs that wanted him.
Romano added that part of the reason Arsenal accepted the bid was because of very good conditions on the payment terms.
The deal is Fulham’s record signing, and one of Arsenal’s biggest sales, eclipsed only marginally by the sales of the likes of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool for £35m.
That seems like a good outcome for the Gunners, considering Smith Rowe only played 475 minutes for Arsenal last season across 19 appearances (four starts).
The England international clearly has the talent to star for Fulham, but he’d found himself surplus to requirements in north London.
