There is some bad news coming out of Bayern Munich camp — young attacker Arijon Ibrahimović has suffered a torn muscle and will be out for several weeks. FCBayern.com issued a statement on the youngster’s status:
FCB attacker Arijon Ibrahimović will be sidelined for some time and will therefore not take part in the Audi Summer Tour in South Korea. The 18-year-old tore a muscle in the back of his left thigh in Wednesday’s final training session ahead of the trip. The diagnosis was confirmed after an examination by the FC Bayern medical unit.
This is a very tough blow for Ibrahimović, who was supposed to be given an opportunity to compete for playing in the attack. Bild (as captured by @iMiaSanMia) offered details on the extent of the injury:
Arijon Ibrahimović will miss the rest of pre-season as well as the start of the new season. Depending on the severity of the muscle tear, the time off is estimated at 6 weeks at least.
The boys are back in town
Germany’s internationals hit the training pitch as Joshua Kimmich, Thomas Müller, Manuel Neuer and Jamal Musiala were fully involved in training:
One player who was — curiously — not in training was Leon Goretzka. There was no official word on his status or why he missed the session:
Palhinha hits the pitch
Bayern Munich newcomer João Palhinha took part in his first training session:
Here is another shot of Palhinha — presumably before Ibrahimović suffered his injury:
No comment from Davies
Bayern Munich is deploying drones at its training sessions, which could bring back some awkward memories from Canada international Alphonso Davies:
Those shifty Canadians are always at it…
