Kasey McAteer looks to have decided on his international future, being part of the Republic of Ireland squad facing England and Greece in the Nations League campaign. The 22 year old attacker has not represented any country at any levels of international football, as he could chose between England, Ireland and Northern Ireland.
What a week it’s been for Caleb Okoli. Making his starting debut in the Carabao Cup vs. Tranmere, as well as keeping his place in the team for the Premier League Aston Villa fixture. He was called up to play for Italy at full international level, being included in their squad for the Nations League games vs. France and Israel.
The 23 year old central defender could have represented Nigeria, but looks to have made up his mind to continue to play for Italy, as he has done up to U.21. His £12million move to Leicester in the summer, joining from Atalanta, could be one special, as he was voted Leicester man of the match in his full Premier League debut vs. Villa.
A real Leicester reunion party for Denmark, as the clubs former set piece coach Lars Knudsen has taken temporary charge for the team, naming Kasper Schmeichel, Mads Hermansen, Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen in his squad for the games vs. Switzerland and Serbia.
Wout Faes is in the Belgium squad, joined by Timothy Castagne and Youri Tielemans. Nigeria has called up Wilfred Ndidi for their AFCON qualifiers vs. Benin. Kelechi Iheanacho, Ademola Lookman and Calvin Bassey are ex Leicster men joining Ndidi in the squad.
Jordan Ayew and Abdul Fatawu are both named in the Ghana squad for their AFCON qualifiers. Ben Nelson, Sammy Braybrooke and Will Alves are all in the England U.20 squad for their games vs. Turkey and Romania. Danny Ward is in the Wales squad for their games vs. Turkey and Montenegro.
Bilal El Khannouss joined up with Morocco for their AFCON qualifiers vs. Gabon and Lesotho. Steve McClaren has named his first Jamaica squad, including Bobby De Cordova-Reid. Games will be vs. Cuba and Honduras.
Harry Souttar is part of the Australia squad that will be playing Bahrain and Indonesia. Tom Cannon did not make the Ireland squad after being part of the previous selection.
This adds up a good group of players going out on international duty.
