Former Sky Sports host Richard Keys can’t seem to resist taking jabs at West Ham United, and his latest comments are no exception.
Keys, a close ally of ex-Hammers boss David Moyes, has been a leading voice in the “be careful what you wish for” narrative ever since Moyes’ departure. Last season, he infamously labelled West Ham’s director of football, Tim Steidten, a “sneaky weasel” for scouting Moyes’ potential replacements.
Earlier this season, Keys had Moyes join him as a pundit during West Ham’s humbling defeat to Chelsea, seemingly relishing Moyes’ critiques of current boss Julen Lopetegui.
Keys has also had past spats with West Ham figures, famously making sexist remarks towards club CEO Karren Brady, dismissing her concerns about sexism in football with the line: “Do me a favour, love.”
Now, Keys is back, this time trying to dissuade a player from signing for West Ham. He has advised Eintracht Frankfurt striker Omar Marmoush, reportedly a January transfer target for the Hammers, to set his sights higher than a move to the London Stadium.
Speaking on beIN Sports, Keys remarked: “He’s been linked with West Ham. If I’m him, I’m aiming for something bigger.”
