Erik ten Hag bemoaned his wasteful Manchester United players for missing a host of huge chances in their defeat by West Ham.
No team has failed to convert more big opportunities than United this season and it was a painfully familiar story for Ten Hag at the London Stadium.
His team failed to take advantage of their first half dominance and were made to pay for their lack of composure in the final third.
‘We created so many chances, we played such good football, especially in the first half,’ Ten Hag said.
‘I think there were six or seven 100 percent chances that we should have scored. When we don’t score we have to stay calm.

‘That is a point of improvement, but all over I don’t have so many criticisms about my team, other than not scoring.’
Diogo Dalot missed the best chance of the game, with the defender volleying over the bar when he had an empty net to aim at. But Ten Hag pointed to a number of other players who were also wasteful.
‘I can also say Alejandro Garnacho, twice, Rasmus Hojlund one time, [Marcus] Rashford, Bruno [Fernandes],’ Ten Hag said. ‘It’s not fair to pick one player out who missed a chances when there were so many who were missing chances.
‘The luck is definitely not on my side at the moment.
‘Last season was not different but in the end we turned it around and we are so determined that it will be the same case today. We have to turn this around and it will turn around if we keep playing like we are playing now.’

Ten Hag maintained that the best team did not win but West Ham head coach Julen Lopetegui insisted his side, who have now gone above United on goal difference, deserved their three points for their second half performance.
‘That’s his opinion, I think there were two different halves,’ Lopetegui said.
‘First half, I know that they were better. The second half we were better and we deserved to win. It is true they had chances [in the first half] but that’s why we changed a lot and then we were better.’
