Currently serving an as – yet undetermined ban following the “Spurs’ Slapping” Soap Opera, West Ham’s Ghanaian winger Mohammed Kudus is again the subject of transfer speculation and rumour. Clearly, all is not well between Hammers’ No.14 and Head Coach Lopetegui, after the reported dressing-room bust up at Brentford and Kudus’ frustrated lashing out at Spurs.
He was rumoured to have asked his brother, who is also his agent these days, to contact to Liverpool to get him away from London Stadium.
Now a new rumour is posted from the BBC today concerning the story in The Mirror about Arsenal lining up a bid for the Hammers’ Starboy. According to the bbc.com ‘Gossip’ page: “Arsenal are lining up 24-year-old West Ham United and Ghana winger Mohammed Kudus as a £90m replacement for 29-year-old Belgium forward Leandro Trossard, who is being targeted by Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad.”
With his well-known contract release clause set at £85 million coming back ‘live’ in the Summer of 2025 – we found that out last summer- it will not be surprising to find a handful of clubs come in to tempt Kudus away if West Ham’s turmoil lasts until January.
Kudus has already been linked with interest from Liverpool and rumours of Saudi Pro League bids under preparation.
Of course a new appointment in the head coach department may go a long way to ease Kudus’ mind and convince him at least to finish the 2024-5 season off at London Stadium before the bidding war begins.
