At 38-years-old, most football players would consider retiring from the glorious game. Bayern Munich’s legend, though, is not considering it…yet.
Manuel Neuer is, and has been, Bayern’s number 1 keeper for what seems like forever now. But at the age that he is, Manuel “The Wall” Neuer is definitely showing signs of slowing down. Despite this, it is reported that Neuer expects to don Bayern colors for at least one season longer.
According to the report from Florian Plettenburg (captured by @iMiaSanMia), everything points toward a contract renewal. Those close to the situation are also confident that the German keeper will sign for another year. The final decision, of course, depends entirely on Neuer himself, but he feels ‘in top shape’.
Neuer recently retired from the German national team, owing to his age and inability to keep up with multiple schedules at the same time (well, that’s the real reason), and most expected him to retire from Bayern this season too. Following some shambolic performances for the club, fans almost want him to retire, and save himself (and the club) the embarrassment of carrying on longer.
What do you think? Should Neuer renew for another season? Let us know!
