Finally! Bayern Munich winger Leroy Sané is reportedly back to full fitness and is looking on the verge of making a Champions League start on Wednesday, according to a report from Sport Bild.
Via @iMiaSanMia:
Leroy Sané is back at 100% following his groin surgery in the summer. There were ‘internal signals’ that Sané could be back in the starting lineup against Benfica tomorrow. Vincent Kompany carefully reintroduced the winger into the team in the past few weeks, managing his game time – now Sané is on the verge of his first Champions League start this season [@BILD]
This is great news for the German national team star, who saw his form decline in the second half of last season after running himself ragged in the previous Hinrunde. Sané played through the pain for EURO 2024 but it has been a slow restart in the new season.
Bayern fans will remember his killer Champions League performances in the previous two seasons, though. Is Sané ready to uncork another masterclass tomorrow against SL Benfica?
