Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala heading home a goal into the back of the net is getting to be a regular sight these days.
The 21-year-old always regards it as a rare event, celebrating with a broad grin and a few cheeky taps on his own head. But that makes three just this season — and it is only November.
At this point, is it really luck?
“He’s getting in the right areas and that’s what happens, you know, the ball sometimes falls your way,” said teammate and striker Harry Kane, who supplied the assist (as captured by @iMiaSanMia). “It’s all of the hard work he does. You can work on it, work on being in the area and getting the goals that make the difference. I’m really pleased for him and hopefully he can keep it up.”
Head coach Vincent Kompany concurred.
“It doesn’t matter whether you score with your head, knee or [chest],” Kompany stated in his own post-match remarks. “You have to be at the right time for one contact. He sees in training how Thomas Müller and Harry Kane act inside the box. I hope he’ll carry on this way.”
After all, why not? Musiala has some excellent examples to learn from around him.
