Everton look set to have Abdoulaye Doucoure available to play again against West Ham United on Saturday
Abdoulaye Doucoure is back in contention to start for Everton at West Ham United on Saturday. Sean Dyche provided a fitness update on a number of players at his press conference on Thursday.
The Blues have been dealing with a number of absentees in recent weeks, with Doucoure a surprise absence from the squad for the loss to Southampton last time out.
Speaking at his press conference, Dyche provided an update on the fitness of the midfielder. “Doucoure has got a chance,” said the Everton boss. “He’s done very well to recover. At first we were worried it was going to be a number of weeks. But that’s settled down really quickly so he’s got a chance.”

The manager also clarified where Armando Broja is in his recovery after images emerged of him training with the first team this week. Dyche said: “Broja has been with us in parts to get a feel for the ball and get in and around the players on the training pitch. Hopefully from next week onwards we will start to move that forwards.”
Dyche also revealed that Seamus Coleman has a hamstring strain, despite the fact he has been called up to the Republic of Ireland squad. It was added that Iliman Ndiaye was fine to feature after taking a knock at Southampton.
The clash with West Ham at the London Stadium is set to be a significant one for both teams, with Dyche and his opposite number Julen Lopetegui both under pressure after slow starts.
The Hammers have accrued two more points than the Blues so far this term, although ambitions were lofty for the new campaign after some significant summer investment. According to reports, a loss to Everton could spell the end of Lopetegui’s tenure.
