West Ham United head coach Julen Lopetegui is under all kinds of pressure right now.
Julen Lopetegui arrived at the London Stadium in the summer, but West Ham have regressed, unfortunately.
It’s incredible to think that West Ham have actually got worse, considering how bad we were during the second half of last season.
Lopetegui seems to be powerless to turn things around as well, and the Hammers head coach is a dead man walking right now.
With games against Newcastle and Arsenal to come after the international break, West Ham could be in a whole world of trouble in the not too distant future.
Either the Spaniard and his players need to make huge changes and improvements on the training ground over the next couple of weeks, or we change a managerial change.
I would prefer the latter, and there is someone out there who would undoubtedly improve us overnight.
PL boss would take West Ham job if Julen Lopetegui is sacked
Whether the Spaniard will still be in charge at the London Stadium by the time we play our next game remains to be seen.
I personally think now would be the perfect time to sack him.
It’s clear in my mind that things aren’t going to improve under Lopetegui – the man is painfully bereft of ideas.
And if David Sullivan wanted to show some real ambition, he should go for a manger from one of our Premier League rivals.
That’s according to Jason Cundy, who told talkSPORT (Saturday November 9th, 6:15pm) that Marco Silva would take the Hammers job in a heartbeat.
Cundy said, “West Ham fans, listening to this now, if they want Marco Silva and they are prepared to pay him, he will leave Fulham to go to West Ham.”
Interestingly, the Hammers were heavily linked with the 47-year-old as a potential replacement for David Moyes seven months ago.
Marco Silva perfect for West Ham
Silva has worked wonders with Fulham, and currently has them sitting in seventh spot in the table, just one point adrift of the top four.
The Portuguese has the Cottagers playing some exceptional football as well – it’s light and day from what Julen Lopetegui is serving up at West Ham right now.
Fulham play with incredibly high energy, and press their opponents incessantly high up the pitch.
Silva’s players clearly want to play for him, and they work incredibly hard – that should be a given really though shouldn’t it.
I personally believe that the former Everton boss would be able to get a tune out of the current crop of players at West Ham.
The problem is that Sullivan would have to pay a hefty fee to prise him away from Craven Cottage and that my friends, will not be happening unfortunately!
