Tottenham Hotspur forward Richarlison has been a frustrating presence at White Hart Lane owing to his consistent injury concerns, complimented by the fact that he has not been able to find his feet at Hotspur Way. The Brazilian ace has been struggling to compound minutes under his belt, and the chiefs at N17 are said to have already started looking for potential replacements for the 27-year-old.
Richy was linked with a potential exit in the last summer window; however, he found a way to stay put at the Premier League giants as he looked to rejuvinate his time donning the Spurs badge. Although he has left many questioning whether he would ever fully settle at Tottenham.
Wenham calls for Richarlison exit
The former Watford forward’s inability to secure regular minutes under Ange Postecoglou, combined with his struggles in front of the goal, has led to growing frustration among both supporters and club officials. And John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, is “bored” of the timely injury setbacks and wants the club to sell the player in the upcoming January transfer window as he acknowledges Will Lankshear’s qualities and wants the academy striker promoted to the role of backup striker.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“I’m just bored of it now. Richarlison should have been moved on in the summer and the club must now look to move him on in January.
“Lankshear can become the deputy to Dominic Solanke. We’re never going to know how good Lankshear is until we give him a run of games.
“Yes, his red card was frustrating, but he’ll bounce back. Therefore, I’d be more than happy for Richarlison to be sold in January and Lankshear utilised as a backup striker till the end of the season.”
Now, looking at the current dynamics, Richarlison suffered another injury recently, which looks like a hamstring strain that is expected to keep him out of action for quite some time, and this should be enough to get a conversation going about a potential exit behind the scenes.
