Jeorge Bird reports that Arsenal goalkeeper Jack Porter has had to pull out of the England u17 squad for the November internationals due to injury.
After making his first-team Arsenal debut in September, Porter was involved with the England u17s in late October, starting two of their three European Championship qualifiers.
With England winning both of those matches, and Porter keeping a clean sheet in one of them, he didn’t do his chances of further appearances any harm ahead of the November break.
Yet in his absence, England will now likely give games to former Gunner Owen Asemota, now of Aston Villa.
Arsenal still have two players in the England u17 squad, with Theo Julienne and Max Dowman receiving call-ups once again.
Julienne had been called up for the October break, ultimately missing out through an injury of his own, but he’s back involved again this time around.
As for Dowman, it’s no surprise he’s involved after two goals in his last three games for the England u17s.
This isn’t the worst break for Porter to miss, as England will only play a couple of friendlies against Belgium this time around.
The first game is on Friday, November 15th at 18:00 GMT, with the second on Monday, November 18th at 11:00 GMT.
After topping their qualifying round one group, England will play their second round of qualifiers in the spring.
