West Ham United need to invest in talented young players going forward, especially in the centre-forward department.
The summer signing of Niclas Fullkrug has proven to be a disaster already, and West Ham must learn from their mistakes.
And despite the fact that the Hammers are apparently prepared to stick with Fullkrug, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be looking to bring in further reinforcements up front.
We are crying out for more pace, explosiveness and youthful exuberance through the middle.
The good news is that it seems like Julen Lopetegui and Tim Steidten are very keen to change all of that.
The Hammers are said to have an extremely talented young centre-forward on the radar.
West Ham ready to splash £16.6m on ‘excellent’ Stefanos Tzimas
Talented teenager Stefanis Tzimas is courting attention from the Premier League it seems.
And it’s little wonder as to why, given his form out in Germany this season.
PAOK Salonika’s official website have described the 18-year-old as ‘excellent’.
Tzimas is currently on loan with German side Nuremberg, and according to Sport Bild (print edition November 13th), they are planning to activate a £15 million purchase option they hold.
They will allegedly then be prepared to sell him to West Ham for £16.6 million, in order to make a quick profit.
The talented teenager has been in exceptional form out in Germany this season, with five goals and one assist to his name in 10 games (Transfermarkt).
Standing at just over 6ft tall, he possesses the physique needed to succeed in the Premier League.
The Greek starlet is incredibly strong considering his tender years, possesses impressive pace and is a very good finisher.
I would love to see West Ham sign Stefanos Tzimas either in January or next summer.
However, it must be said, spending £16.6 million on him would certainly be accompanied by huge risk.
Sometimes, you have to take a punt on players like Tzimas though.
