West Ham United face Newcastle United in the Premier League after the international break.
The Premier League clash with Newcastle will be an absolutely vital one for West Ham, and Julen Lopetegui in particular.
The Hammers head coach is under intense pressure at the London Stadium right now, with the likes of Brendan Rodgers apparently being lined up to replace him in the West Ham hot-seat.
West Ham have underperformed this season, especially when taking into account the huge outlay on transfers in the summer.
The Hammers need to start picking up some points quickly, if we are to enjoy a successful season.
There could be trouble ahead though…
Worst news emerges for West Ham ahead of vital Newcastle clash
We all know how hard it will be for us to go to St James’ Park and get a result.
The Magpies have just started to find some form as well, annoyingly.
But things have just got a whole lot worse for the Hammers.
According to a report from the Shields Gazette, Newcastle are set to welcome back Kieran Trippier, Anthony Gordon and our arch nemesis Callum Wilson for the big Premier League clash when domestic action resumes.
Wilson, 32, has scored more goals against us throughout his career than any other club, with 12 in 14 to his name (Transfermarkt).
He has also only lost three of those encounters.
The former Bournemouth striker might not be the player he once was, but he’s still very dangerous in and around the penalty area.
It is so typical of West Ham United’s luck that Wilson will be back for Newcastle in time to face us in 10 day’s time.
Let’s hope that if he does play, our defenders, and defensive midfielders, are right on top of their games because if they aren’t, it could be yet another miserable night on Tyneside for us.
