Tottenham Hotspur centre back Cristian Romero has been enduring a difficult time in the ongoing 2024/25 campaign, with the Argentine World Cup winner struggling with injuries and finding his sweet form at White Hart Lane.
And while those struggles weren’t enough, he took all the limelight with his comments about the Lilywhites transfer business that has divided supporters. He questioned Daniel Levy about the lack of spending and smart spending appearing to take off pressure from his mates in the dressing room to the ones sitting in air-conditioned rooms at Hotspur Way.
Robinson warns Romero
Former North Londoners goalkeeper Paul Robinson has warned the former Atalanta man against “biting the hand that feeds” after his dig at Daniel Levy.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“He can say what he wants when he’s left the club, but don’t bite the hand that feeds you. He can have his own opinions once he’s left the club, but when you’re part of a family, a unit, who are all trying to achieve something together,.
“I’d be very against biting the hand that feeds you.”
What Robinson is trying to put through is the sensitive nature of publicly criticising the leadership at White Hart Lane while still being a part of the team and being employed by the club, and given that Romero’s frustration over the recent transfer dealings is understandable (much like a lot of Tottenham supporters), such comments could have consequences.
