Majority owner David Sullivan is back in charge of transfers at West Ham and now he faces a race against time for a confirmed target.
West Ham were already looking to sign a new forward in the January transfer window.
But it has now become an absolute necessity.
David Sullivan has taken back ultimate control of transfers from Tim Steidten and the manager.
Sullivan is unhappy with how £155m was spent in the summer as West Ham toil under flop boss Julen Lopetegui.
Both he and Steidten are on the brink as a result.
Michail Antonio’s car crash and Jarrod Bowen’s broken foot means the Hammers simply must find a way to bring in another striker.
The club has acknowledged they need to sign a ‘top level striker’.
Danny Ings just hasn’t worked out and will be leaving when his contract expires at the end of the season.
Bargain £12m deal sealed for top West Ham striker target
The reality is that the Hammers will need to sign at least two new forwards in the next two windows.
But West Ham’s owners have said the club is at its PSR limit. Therefore loans with options or obligations may be the path of least resistance.
Bringing in one forward in January should get the Irons through to the end of the season.
There is uncertainty over Niclas Fullkrug’s future.
Fullkrug is unsettled in England and wants to leave West Ham according to a top board source.
West Ham confirmed interest in Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath to Hammers News recently.
But West Ham don’t believe ‘Boro will sell as they are chasing promotion.
Reports have abound that the Hammers are in talks to sign Evan Ferguson from Brighton.
But Hammers News brought you a major exclusive update a move for Ferguson today.
Now a bargain £12m deal has been sealed for a confirmed West Ham striker target as Sullivan faces a race against time.
David Sullivan faces race against time for Latte Lath
West Ham confirmed interest in Middlesbrough striker Emmanuel Latte Lath to Hammers News recently.
West Ham revealed they didn’t believe ‘Boro would sell Latte Lath as they are chasing promotion.
Journalist Graeme Bailey was not so sure when he shared a detailed update on West Ham’s forward targets recently.
Bailey has strong contacts at ‘Boro and believes they could be tempted to sell Lath if the Hammers hit the right number.
Well the right number has been hit for Latte Lath it seems.
But not by West Ham.
In an exclusive by journalist Alan Nixon on his Patreon, the Sun reporter has revealed West Ham’s Premier League rivals Leicester have had a £12m bid for Latte Lath accepted by Middlesbrough.
West Ham still have a chance to sign Latte Lath
Nixon has once again confirmed West Ham’s interest.
But he says Leicester will get the chance to speak to him first after having a bid accepted.
Nixon claims the Foxes hope to now agree a deal for the Ivory Coast hit man Latte Lath who ‘has been angling for a move for months’.
It is stated that Leicester are close to agreeing the move for the Hammers target.
But it’s not done yet, meaning West Ham still have a chance to hijack the transfer.
Bailey previously told Hammers News he thought ‘Boro would sell Lath for £25m.
And he revealed an influential agent close to Sullivan was pushing to get Lath to east London.
“Will Salthouse is trying to do Lath – every player has his price, ‘Boro would take £25m for him – they have Conway, who is better really but if they did it early enough they could do it,” Bailey said.
