Arsenal are trying again for Dusan Vlahovic as current club Juventus search for his replacement, according to reports in the Italian media.
Italian outlet La Stampa report that Arsenal are trying again for Dusan Vlahovic of Juventus, with the Serie A club targeting a couple of strikers as incomings in case the Serbian centre-forward departs.
La Stampa claim Vlahovic is “far from unsellable, providing that the right conditions for his departure occur”. Though Juventus would want a fee “much higher” than the €30m (£24.9m) required to avoid making a capital loss on him.
The outlet adds that the phone of Vlahovic’s agent Darko Ristic has started ringing again, particularly with regards to English clubs. Arsenal are one of those clubs, as well as Manchester United.
The United link is an interesting one, as La Stampa claim Joshua Zirkzee is one of the players linked with Juventus as a potential replacement for Vlahovic.
Juventus reportedly want Zirkzee on loan without any obligation to buy, and they’re also looking at Randal Kolo Muani of Paris Saint-Germain. Should Vlahovic leave, the Italian club want to sign both Zirkzee and Kolo Muani, not just one of the two.
Arsenal have long been linked with Vlahovic and are clearly in the market for a forward, so perhaps their name is simply being thrown into the mix because it makes sense. As it stands, the English media haven’t made any mention of renewed interest from the Gunners.
Vlahovic has 12 goals and a couple of assists in 23 appearances for Juventus this season, though he most recently blanked in his team’s Supercoppa Italiana defeat to AC Milan. The side are next in action away to Torino on Saturday, January 11th.
