Manchester City are weighing up an approach for Juventus defender Nicolo Savona this month, according to reports.
The Premier League champions have been seeking potential replacements for Kyle Walker who could well depart for Saudi Arabia in the near future.
TBRFootball claim that Savona has been identified as a potential successor with the added bonus that he can play at centre-back. Fans on X are split on whether the Italian has the ability to play for City:
Our scouts all need sacking and replacing they are so so bad. Be better off employing some of the scouts on twitter. Haha

Watched last game in Supa Copa . Has come a long way in last few months. Far from a complete defender though.

Any right-back is better than Walker so I say bring him in.

What do fans need to know about Savona?
The 21-year-old is a product of Juve’s youth system but he did spend some time on loan at SPAL during the 2020/21 season before moving back to Turin.
Savona didn’t make his senior debut until this season, with new coach Thiago Motta having taken a liking to him. The fullback came on as a half-time substitute for Timothy Weah on the opening day of the campaign against Como.
The defender started the next league fixture against Hellas Verona a week later. It was a memorable first start as he scored the second goal in a 3-0 win. Since then, he has made 23 appearances, including 17 starts in all competitions.
City are planning big changes to their defence
In addition to Savona, the club have been heavily linked with a move for Lens’ Abdukodir Khusanov, with club-to-club discussions having taken place.
The Cityzens are also said to be keeping tabs on Braga’s Sikou Niakate and Nottingham Forest’s Ola Aina among others.
