Everton are scheduled to welcome Peterborough United to Goodison Park tonight for a FA Cup third-round tie
Everton will hold a safety meeting early this afternoon (Thursday) ahead of their FA Cup third-round tie at home to Peterborough United tonight. It comes after Merseyside was hit with a weather warning for the sixth day in succession.
The Blues are scheduled to welcome their League One opponents to Goodison Park in a 7.45pm kick-off. The match, which will be available to watch live on the BBC Red Button as well as via BBC iPlayer and the BBC Sport website, is a sell-out.
The latest yellow weather warning for snow and ice comes after days of traffic chaos, school closures and rail cancellations as a result of the disruptive weather.

Everton, who are struggling at the wrong end of the Premier League table, still expect the game to go ahead.
But the club has confirmed it will meet with the relevant authorities at 1pm to assess the situation.
A statement from the Blues reads: “A safety meeting involving the club and relevant authorities will be held at 1pm to assess the weather and travel conditions for tonight’s FA Cup fixture against Peterborough United.
“At this stage the match is planned to go ahead as normal and every effort is being made to ensure that remains the case.
“We will continue to keep fans updated, and will provide more information following the meeting.”
Peterborough will be bringing 2,976 supporters on the eight-hour round trip to Merseyside.
