According to a report from Sport Bild journalist Christian Falk, Bayern Munich and the representatives for Alphonso Davies will continue their talks. That is not anything new.
However, Falk did cite a report from Cadena SER, which states that Real Madrid could make a proposal to Davies that includes a salary of €20 million per season (including signing bonus), which would seem to be a lot more than Bayern Munich wants to pay the Canadian:
✅ According to our information, the negotiation for a new contract between FC Bayern and the Agent of Alphonso Davies (24) rounds are scheduled to last until January 16th
❇️ there is still no agreement on the salary
❇️ „Cadena SER“: New offer of Real Madrid for Davies. allegedly €20 Mio salary
The report from Cadena SER reporter Pacojo was captured by @iMiaSanMia:
Real Madrid remain in contact with Alphonso Davies’ agent, who is informing them of all steps they’re taking with Bayern, with a meeting in Munich planned for next week. Real have told the player’s agent that they won’t improve their last offer and won’t enter into a bidding war with Bayern. Real’s last offer was worth €20m gross per year, which includes the signing on fee – a total package of €100m over 5 years. Bayern’s offer, including the signing fee, is not far from that. The decision is up to Davies
Real Madrid sources suspect that they ‘are being told one thing, but then Davies’ agent is doing another thing’. The Spanish club insists that they still would love to sign Davies, but if he doesn’t join in the summer then they will activate their buyback option for Miguel Gutiérrez
Interestingly, after Bayern Munich had problems in the past with Nick Huoseh (Davies’ agent), now it appears that Real Madrid is having some issues.
Either way, Bayern Munich should seek to expedite things before the costs spiral further out of control.
