The agent for Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies will be in Bavaria until January 16th per a report from Sport Bild journalist Tobi Altschäffl (via @iMiaSanMia):
Alphonso Davies’ agent is planning to stay in Munich until January 16. A decision is expected to be made by then. Both sides were already close to reaching an agreement around November 30 after the game against Borussia Dortmund.
While not necessarily a deadline, that does give both sides an idea of how quickly they need to move to get a deal done. Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl gave an update during Friday’s press conference.
“It’s no secret that we’re talking to the agents of the players whose contracts are expiring. We have a game on Saturday so I’m ruling out anything happening this week. What we’ve all agreed on is that we won’t go into the phase with the important games [without a decision]. Everyone is interested in us having a successful second half of the season with Bayern Munich. We’re trying to make all parties happy,” said Eberl (as captured by @iMiaSanMia).
Indeed and if a new contract gets signed in the coming days, many Bayern Munich fans will be happy as well. Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, and Liverpool FC have been linked to the Canadian in recent weeks.
