Eintracht Frankfurt star Omar Marmoush continued his torrid run of play this season with another goal during the team’s 1-0 win over St. Pauli.
Manchester City is ramping up its pursuit, though, which could see Pep Guardiola’s club finalize a deal for the Egyptian scoring machine in the coming days per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg:
Frankfurt boss Markus Krösche confirms our news from Friday about direct and positive contact with #MCFC regarding a transfer of Omar #Marmoush:
“One club has made contact. A club has expressed its interest,” he told Sky.
Negotiations have started and are ongoing. Frankfurt demand €80m.
Marmoush is in #SGE’s starting XI today against St. Pauli. Coach Dino Toppmöller said before the match: “We hope that he stays.”
Plettenberg added more context later as well:
⚽️ Omar #Marmoush scores for @Eintracht against his former club St. Pauli. 1:0.
… 14th Bundesliga goal this season. 8 assists.
After the game, negotiations with Manchester City will continue. #MCFC
Maloney deal getting closer
The rumored move of Lennart Maloney from Heidenheim to Mainz 05 might be getting closer per Plettenberg:
Lennard #Maloney will once again be left out of Heidenheim’s squad today against Union Berlin. This decision has been set since Thursday.
His move to #Mainz05 is close to be done, as exclusively revealed. Only a few details remain to be clarified for a free transfer in the summer.
Currently, no negotiations are taking place between Mainz and Heidenheim regarding a transfer in the winter.
BVB eyeing Chelsea midfielder
Plettenberg is clearly a busy man this month as he also had information on Borussia Dortmund’s interest in Chelsea midfielder Carney Chukwuemeka:

Mijatović headed to the Bundesliga?
NYCFC striker Jovan Mijatović could be up for a move to Europe. Could this potentially be linked into the Marmoush deal somehow? Plettenberg (again!) says Bayer Leverkusen had interest last year, as did Juventus:
Jovan #Mijatovic is considered as one of the top striker talents of his generation.
The 19-y/o forward is currently under contract with New York City in the MLS. The City Football Group paid €10m for him. #NYCFC
A loan move to Europe has now become a serious option in this window, with the Bundesliga being a potential destination. Last year, #Leverkusen and #Juventus were both interested in signing him.
