Bayern Munich’s win over Borussia Mönchengladbach was a tepid, difficult affair. Traveling to the team’s so called-bogey team after a multi week break will do that to a team. What was also the case, however, that Bayern kept on attacking BMG’s goal and eventually got the breakthrough through Harry Kane’s penalty. And once the breakthrough happened, the team never looked like conceding an equalizer, comfortably seeing out the game. All in all, that required a good mentality.
That is a sentiment the goalscorer agrees with:
“It’s very important to start the year with a win. The performance was very good, we created a lot of chances. We showed a good attitude and mentality,” Kane said, via FCBayern.com. “We have some important matches and want to carry on the momentum.”
With the game against TSG Hoffenheim coming up soon, the team will not have much time to analyze the game against Die Fohlen. As the team shakes off the rust accumulated during the winter break and enters a difficult set of fixtures, the three points are what is most important.
