The final Goodison league derby will take place next month as Everton and Liverpool discover new date
The final league derby at Goodison between Everton and Liverpool will take place next month after the Premier League confirmed the rearranged date for the fixture. The 245th meeting between the Merseyside rivals had been due to take place on Saturday, December 7 before the match was postponed four hours before the 12.30pm kick-off due to the impact of Storm Darragh.
The game will now take place on Wednesday, February 12 with an 7.30pm start and will be shown live on TNT Sports, meaning the last Goodison league derby before Everton move to their new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock will take place under the lights.
However, there is scope for the fixture having to be rearranged further should Liverpool fail to secure their place directly into the last 16 of the Champions League.

Arne Slot’s side need only a point from their final two games at home to Lille and at PSV Eindhoven later this month to be mathematically sure of progress to the first knockout round.
Nevertheless, it would take a series of freak results to deny Liverpool a place in the last 16. Should they drop out of the top eight, they would be in the play-off round, the first leg of which takes place in the same week as the rearranged derby and would therefore require the game to be shifted to a different date.
Should the match go ahead as planned on February 12, it would represent the first derby for both Slot and the second reign of David Moyes, who was recently confirmed as Everton boss following the sacking of Sean Dyche.
Moyes was in charge for 25 Merseyside derbies during his first 11-year spell in the Blues hotseat, winning four times and losing 13.
