Tottenham have entered the transfer race for Brentford talisman Bryan Mbeumo
After breaking the club transfer record by signing Dominic Solanke in the past summer transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur are now looking to add another striker to the roster at White Hart Lane in the ongoing winter transfer window. They also acquired the service of Wilson Odobert from Championship side Burnley in the summer.
However, with Solanke netting just seven Premier League goals so far and Odobert being sidelined with a worrying injury since October, Spurs are looking at the striker market again in a bid to bolster their chances of qualifying for European football.
Paris Saint-Germain striker Randal Kolo Muani had been subject to ample links with Spurs. However, Juventus have beaten the North Londoners to the loan signing of Kolo Muani, who had become surplus to requirements at PSG under Luis Enrique after only 18 months.
The Lilywhites have been dealt yet another big blow this campaign. Ange Postecoglou’s side will not shift their focus away from bolstering their attack after missing out on top target Kolo Muani, with the Hotspur Way chiefs now planning to move to other targets.
According to a report from French outlet RMC Sport, Tottenham are monitoring Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo. They have gathered information about the forward and could go on the offensive before the transfer window slams shut, although Spurs face competition from Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.
Bryan Mbeumo is enjoying the season of his career to date at Brentford, netting 13 goals in 20 Premier League games so far. It represents his best-ever return in the top flight and his form has begun to attract attention from bigger clubs. The Cameroon international’s current deal expires in 2026 (Transfermarkt) which suggests he could be set to leave across the next two windows, with the January market and the summer being a crucial moment for his career.
-> Tottenham shift eyes to Nice star after missing out on Randal Kolo Muani
Spurs and their Premier League rivals have been put on red alert after the 25-year-old has entered the final 18 months of his contract at the Gtech Community Stadium, but the Bees are holding out for a lucrative fee as their preference is to keep him on board for the rest of the season. The aforementioned report adds Brentford want €50million to let Mbeumo leave in this transfer window.
Tottenham’s interest in Mbeumo may stem from the fact that he is a Premier League-proven commodity and due to his ability to feature on the right wing and in a centre-forward role. In that regard, the African star would be a good option to cover for Solanke in the No.9 role whilst competing with Brennan Johnson on the right flank.

All in all, Daniel Levy must show ambition and loosen his purse strings in this transfer window to land Mbeumo, who at 25 certainly has the best years ahead of him.
