West Ham United star Lucas Paqueta seemed to be in agent mode after our win over Fulham on Tuesday night.
Lucas Paqueta operated as a false nine for West Ham against Fulham, and he put in a really impressive shift, capping his performance with the winning goal.
The 27-year-old has been nowhere near his best for the Hammers this season, but it’s little wonder as to why.
Paqueta’s off-field problems have clearly affected his performances, and he apparently faces a lifetime ban if found guilty of the betting breach charges levelled against him.
However, since Graham Potter replaced Julen Lopetegui as the new West Ham head coach, the Brazilian seems to have been given a new lease of life.
His last two performances have been very encouraging, and it kind of seems like a big burden has been lifted off of his shoulders.
Hopefully it’s very much onwards and upwards for Paqueta and the Hammers now.
The addition of a proven striker this month could take us on to another level enitrely.
And it’s looking like that could well happen.
What Lucas Paqueta did to Fulham ace after 3-2 West Ham win
The Hammers ace was clearly doing his level best to help facilitate a big transfer for the Hammers this month.
West Ham are believed to be in the race to sign Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham in the January window.
West Ham are believed to be in the race to sign Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham in the January window.
The 23-year-old has really impressed for the Cottagers over the past few years with his tenacious performances.
So could he really be set to swap Craven Cottage for the London Stadium this winter?
It seems like there’s every chance that it could happen.
And a clip posted on X by @WestHamViews_ has surfaced from the post-Fulham celebrations that now looks very interesting indeed.
Am I reading too much into this? I honestly don’t think I am.
Rodrigo Muniz is perfect for this West Ham team, what with incredible hold-up play, impressive pace and finishing ability.
He bagged 10 goals for Fulham last season, but he’s been a bit quieter with just four to his name this season.
However, it his his all-round game that is the most impressive thing about him.
Muniz is exceptional at occupying opposing defenders, both by engaging in physical battles with them and turning them around by running into the channels.
If West Ham sign Rodrigo Muniz from Fulham this month, I’ll be delighted, and I feel like Lucas Paqueta may have been trying to sell the club to his fellow countryman on Tuesday night.
