Manchester United forward Joshua Zirkzee has avoided a ban after a crude celebration against Southampton.
United staged an impressive late comeback against the Saints on Thursday night in the Premier League, winning 3-1 despite being below-par and second best for much of the game.
Amad Diallo came up trumps, netting a 12-minute hat-trick to dig his side out of a hole and continue their good form.
Zirkzee, meanwhile, after being booed off by his own fans in the first half less than a month ago, was hailed for his involvement after being introduced as a second-half substitute on Thursday.
And the player himself didn’t hide his glee at his side’s turnaround in the game, performing a crude celebration as he chased after Amad for one of his three strikes on the night.
It has, however, been revealed that he will face no further punishment, with the FA detailing their decision.

Joshua Zirkzee has avoided a ban for a crude celebration performed against Southampton
Zirkzee will be available for selection vs Brighton after being reminded of his responsibilities
He performed the gesture while celebrating one of Amad Diallo’s goals late on in the game
‘As guidance, we have issued Joshua Zirkzee with a reminder of his responsibilities, and he will face no further action,’ a statement read.
Zirkzee was introduced into the game in the 53rd minute, replacing the ineffective Rasmus Hojlund up front.
Fans hailed him as a ‘game-changer’ in the match, with the Dutchman playing a key role in the turnaround.
But it was non-footballing matters that left supporters puzzled after the game, when replays of Zirkzee’s celebration surfaced on social media.
The forward could be seen chasing after Diallo, who performed a knee slide in front of the home supporters before being mobbed by team-mates including Alejandro Garnacho and Lisandro Martinez.
Before getting to the forward, however, Zirkzee stopped in his tracks and punched the air in an outpour of passion in front of the celebrating fans.
Rather bizarrely, however, he then appeared to grab and shake his crotch while looking at the fans.
He has, though, avoided a ban for the action and will be available for selection in United’s home game against Brighton this weekend.
