Tottenham defender Radu Dragusin has been linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain
Tottenham Hotspur have struggled throughout the Premier League season, especially due to an unprecedented injury crisis.
The persistent injury problems have hugely hurt the Lilywhites during Ange Postecoglou’s second season in North London. Though Ange Postecoglou and Co. have reached the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup and qualified for the FA Cup fourth round, they sit 15th in the Premier League table, having won just seven of their 21 games.
Their defensive unit has been hit hard with injuries, with Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, Ben Davies, Destiny Udogie and Guglielmo Vicario all having spent time on the sidelines. For over a month now, the Australian tactician has been forced to use young midfielder Archie Gray in central defence alongside Radu Dragusin.
During these desperate times, though, one of Tottenham’s defenders has been linked with a move away from White Hart Lane. According to a report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, Paris Saint-Germain are interested in signing Radu Dragusin in this transfer window. They are prepared to make an offer of €50 million for the Spurs central defender.

Dragusin arrived at Tottenham from Genoa last January as a cover for Romero and Van de Ven. Acting as a back-up defender meant he had limited opportunities during the second half of the 2023/24 campaign. This season, though, has been different as the Romanian has got ample chances to prove his quality in a Tottenham shirt thanks to Romero and Van de Ven’s injury issues.
Regardless of him blowing hot and cold, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King thinks the North Londoners will cash Dragusin in now amid PSG interest.
“Spurs can’t afford to let him go right now,” Bryan King exclusively told Tottenham News.
“You’ve got your two centre-backs injured, you’ve got an 18-year-old playing at centre-back, and you’ve got Dragusin, who isn’t good enough. There is still time in the winter window. However, at this moment in time, getting rid of the player you brought in as cover when your two main centre-backs are injured, is bad business.
“I’m shocked that PSG would be willing to pay £42million for him. However, as far as I am concerned it would be easier for him to play in France than in the Premier League.”
Indeed, Spurs are in absolutely no position to be getting rid of players, particularly a central defender. Dragusin, as such, has managed to keep himself fit during the injury crisis, racking up 24 appearances across all competitions. He has started the last 12 Premier League games for Big Ange’s side.

PSG ready to splash €50 million for a third-choice Spurs defender is baffling, and while there could be a temptation among the Hotspur Way chiefs to cash Dragusin in if an offer in that ballpark arrives this transfer window, we cannot afford to lose a defender at this moment. Moreover, Dragusin is only 22 and not a finished article yet, so we have to be patient and help him develop the different facets of his game.
