Dele Alli has officially been unveiled as a Como player after signing an 18 month contract with the Serie A side just a month after leaving Everton.
The former England international has seen his career stalled at a crossroads in recent years with serious injury problems and off-field issues destabilising his Premier League ambitions.
However, the ex-Tottenham star has now joined Cesc Fabregas‘ Como team and is hoping to reignite his previous scintillating career in Serie A at a club battling to stay in the Italian top-flight.
Alli had been training with Como as a free agent after recovering from injury and his efforts have earned him a deal at the club that runs for an initial 18 months with the option to extend for a further year.
Como aren’t placing any immediate expectations on the 28-year-old and in their own statement revealing Alli had signed, stated: ‘The focus will be on providing Dele with a supportive environment where he can gradually integrate into the squad.
‘While there will be no immediate performance expectations, the club is confident that he will make a significant contribution both on the pitch and as a mentor to the club’s young talents.

The former Tottenham and England star spent two years with the Toffees, a tenure which included a loan spell with Turkish outfit Besiktas in 2022-23.
In the last three seasons, he has made just 17 professional appearances. He last played competitively in February 2023 during his loan spell with Besiktas.
Meanwhile, Alli confirmed his departure from Everton last month, in an emotional statement online. He said: ‘As widely published this week, 2025 may set me on a new path with some exciting opportunities.
‘Before any of that happens it’s very important for me to make clear how grateful I am of all the fans, staff and players at Everton FC for the support they have given me.
‘It’s been an incredibly tough journey trying to put the final pieces together to regain match fitness and I cannot thank the Everton staff enough for the hard work they have put into the process.
‘Unfortunately things haven’t worked out as we all would have hoped and I think it’s the right time for me to turn a new page.
‘I want to wish everyone at this amazing club the very best of luck and hopefully we will see each other again soon.’

He scored 67 goals in 269 appearances with Tottenham across seven years with the club
Alli’s last England cap came in June 2019 in a Nations League game against Switzerland
The midfielder revealed in early 2024 that he had been targeting a spot at the 2026 World Cup with England as he looks at an eventual return to international football.
Alli previously starred as an England regular and played at Euro 2016 and the World Cup in Russia two years later, but hasn’t featured since making his 37th international appearance six years ago.
‘You know you can set reminders on your phone, I have a reminder at 11 o’clock every day that says, “World Cup 2026”,’ he said on Sky Sports in April. ‘That’s my aim for now. I think that people will be like, “he hasn’t played in a year” but I don’t care, I know my level.
‘The only target I have is the World Cup right now. Obviously I’m injured and contracted to Everton and so my mind is just about taking it day by day and making sure my injury is healed and that I’m in the best possible condition after the summer.
‘It’s annoying because I’ll be just fully training as the season ends so it means that I won’t have to rush it.’
Everton were, meanwhile, open to offering Alli a new contract in August. Sean Dyche said things were ‘ticking along nicely’, but talks never progressed.
Alli made a total of 13 appearances for Everton, failing to score a goal.
