With his team in a complete slide, Nuri Sahin is on the hot seat at Borussia Dortmund per Sky Sport journalist Florian Plettenberg:
⚫️ Nuri #Sahin faces a decisive UCL match on Tuesday in Bologna to secure his position as head coach of Borussia Dortmund. #BVB
Should Sahin be forced to leave, Erik ten Hag is considered a serious candidate, as previously revealed. This is partly because he would be immediately available, having recently been spotted in Dortmund.
Sebastian Hoeneß is a strong option for the summer, as he could leave VfB Stuttgart due to an exit clause worth €7-8m.
Borussia Dortmund resides in 10th place of the Bundesliga table (bad) and ninth place of the Champions League standings (not bad). BVB has already been eliminated from the DFB-Pokal as well.
One other name to keep an eye on is Sandro Wagner, who has made a strong impression while assisting Julian Nagelsmann with the German national team.
