Bayern Munich youngster Tarek Buchmann has seen most of his last two season derailed by injuries and illnesses.
Now, though, the center-back is looking to make up for lost time per Tz (as captured by @iMiaSanMia):
Tarek Buchmann is close to making his comeback after being sidelined for 16 months. To avoid another setback, Bayern are planning a cautious and gradual return for Buchmann. He’s expected to gain match practice with the second team in the Regionalliga in the coming months. Far from the pressure of the first team, that could be an important step on his way back to his old strength.
Despite his long injury break, Buchmann is still considered one of the most promising centre-back talents in Germany. His contract with FC Bayern runs until 2026 and the club has big confidence in his qualities. Nevertheless, the chances of him playing regularly in the first team next season are rather slim. Therefore, a contract extension and a loan in the summer could be an option to get match practice at a higher level.
A steady look at Buchmann will help Bayern Munich determine how far along he is — and just what they might or might not need to do on the backline for the near future.
Only Itō and Peretz miss team training
Things are looking up at Bayern munich when it comes to injuries. Only Hiroki Itō and Daniel Peretz missed the team training session before the squad left for Amsterdam (via @iMiaSanMia):
With the exception of Hiroki Itō and Daniel Peretz, everyone is available in today’s team training.
