Tottenham Hotspur are ready to part ways with Richarlison this January.
Tottenham Hotspur boss Ange Postecoglou finds himself in a perilous position with a lot of speculation surrounding his future.
The Lilywhites are in desperate need of reinforcements as the Greek-Australian coach attempts to avoid the sack after a horrible run of just one win in 10 Premier League games. His problems were exacerbated last week by Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson’s injuries, with the duo now set to spend weeks on the sidelines.
Despite Spurs’ wretched run of form, the club chiefs are sticking with Ange Postecoglou and looking to back him in this transfer window. The injuries to Solanke and Johnson have further accentuated the need for a new forward, with Postecoglou’s squad stretched thin. Amidst the hunt for attacking reinforcements, though, Tottenham are also planning to offload a player.

According to former scout Mick Brown, Spurs are ready to listen to offers for Richarlison now. The Hotspur Way chiefs feel the time is right to offload the forward and raise some funds to improve the strength in depth in Postecoglou’s side.
“I’m not surprised he wants to leave,” Mick Brown exclusively told Football Insider.
“But from what I hear, Tottenham want to move him on as well. There always seems to be a cloud hanging over him and he’s never quite found that consistency. People have said he’s alright when he decides to play, but he doesn’t always look up for it.
“That’s been a problem since he was at Everton, and it hasn’t been resolved at Spurs. Top sides can’t afford to carry players like that on big wages, we’ve seen similar with Marcus Rashford, they need players who are going to turn up week in, week out.
“It doesn’t surprise me he wants to go because he’s on the sidelines a bit now, he’s had the injury issues but now he’s back and still can’t really get into the team. So, can I see him moving on, either through his own desire or because the club don’t want him? Yes.”
This update from Brown comes after reports emerged last week that Richarlison is himself planning to end his frustrating spell at White Hart Lane amid interest from Saudi Arabian clubs. The Brazilian has been subject to links with a move to Saudi Arabia in the previous summer window; however, no move materialised.

Though that being said, the former Everton star on his part hasn’t been able to replicate his performances this season and has struggled on multiple fronts, particularly due to injuries. He was sidelined with two separate injuries in the ongoing campaign that caused him to miss 26 games before the forward returned to the squad last week.

With Saudi clubs expressing interest in landing Richarlison, complemented by how his contract ends in 2027 (Transfermarkt) and South American is now keen to leave the Hotspur Way, it is ideal for Tottenham to sell him now and reinvest the funds into a reliable goalscorer.
