Hammarby starlet Bazoumana Traore wanted by Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur’s search for a forward continues as deadline day approaches. The injury to Dominic Solanke and Brennan Johnson last week have only heightened the need for extra depth.
With Son Heung-min showing signs of slowing down, Richarlison is injury prone and Mikey Moore isvery young, there is a glaring requirement for the North London club to strengthen their attack with at least one more player. Ange Postecoglou himself has said that technical director Johan Lange and Co. are working hard to bring in new signings after the acquisition of young goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky from Slavia Prague at the start of the January transfer window.
Hammarby talent Bazoumana Traore has now emerged as a potential target for Spurs. According to a report from Swedish outlet FotbollDirekt, Tottenham are among multiple clubs across Europe that want to intensify their interest in signing the African jewel.
Bazoumana Traore joined Hammarby in March 2024 from homeland outfit ASEC Mimosas, and in just 10 months, he has really impressed with goals, assists, movement, technique and dribbling skills. The teenage prodigy is under contract at the Swedish club until December 2028 (Transfermarkt), but he could be set for a move in this January transfer window provided Hammarby get their transfer fee wishes fulfilled.
The aforementioned report adds Hammarby want to sell Traore for a record fee—one that will surpass the likes of Sebastian Nanasi and Lucas Bergvall. The management are bracing for a bid for their prodigious talent in this transfer window amid interest from Tottenham.
As for Spurs, they have been scouring the market to bring in highly-rated young talents at White Hart Lane and help unlock their potential in this newfound transfer policy at N17. They have now been eyeing a move for Traore, who has set Allsvenskan alight with his dazzling displays. He scored nine goals and supplied four assists in 23 league games last season, with the player giving enough glimpses of his high potential.
The Ivory Coast under-20 international could be a smashing long-term investment for Spurs, joining a pool of exciting young talents which include Archie Gray, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert and Yang Min-hyeok.
