- Coventry City secured a Championship play-off spot, with Arsenal loanee Brooke Norton-Cuffy playing the full 90 minutes in the final game.
- Norton-Cuffy has featured in all 21 possible Championship fixtures since joining Coventry, starting 14 of them.
- Coventry will face Middlesbrough in the play-off semi-finals, with the winner advancing to the final against either Luton Town or Sunderland.
Going into the final game of the Championship league season, Coventry City knew a point would be enough to secure a top-six finish and a play-off spot.
That wasn’t necessarily an easy proposition, with Coventry facing off against fourth-place Middlesbrough, but they managed to secure a 1-1 draw and finish fifth.
Arsenal loanee Brooke Norton-Cuffy played the full 90 minutes of the contest at right-back, and he’s now set for his first experience of play-off football.
Funnily enough, Coventry are set to play against Middlesbrough again in the play-off semi-finals.
The two teams will face off in Coventry first, on Sunday, May 14th at 12:00 BST. Then the second leg is on Wednesday, May 17th at 20:00 BST.
Norton-Cuffy started the season on loan to fellow Championship side Rotherham United, but Arsenal decided to recall and re-loan him to promotion-chasing Coventry City for the remainder of the campaign.
For the most part, that seems to have gone very well. Norton-Cuffy has played in all 21 possible Championship fixtures since joining, starting 14 of them.
The 19-year-old is expected to start in the play-offs, having made Mark Robins’ lineup for six of Coventry’s last seven games.
If they can get past Middlesbrough, Coventry will book themselves a place in the play-off final at Wembley against either Luton Town or Sunderland.
