Hammers boss David Moyes will be keen to sign a top-class centre-forward this summer, with Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio facing uncertain futures at the London Stadium and Danny Ings having failed to impress since joining the club in January.
And now it seems like the Hammers are in a great position to sign the Senegalese ace…
West Ham leading race to sign Boulaye Dia in the summer transfer window
Calciomercato claim that the Hammers are ‘in the front row’ to sign the 26-year-old hitman this summer.
Now, the striker is currently on loan with Salernitana from Villarreal, and the Italian outfit have an option to buy him for around €12 million (£10 million), according to Tutto Salernitana.
And Calciomercato suggest that the Italian side are ready to take up that option, before flogging him on for €30 million (£26 million).
Dia is incredibly powerful, proficient at playing with his back to goal and holding the ball up and is well-renowned for making tireless runs into the channels.
He is a good finisher as well, with 15 goals in 32 games for Salernitana this season. He has 73 career goals for club and country to his name as well.
I believe that the Senegalese ace would be a big upgrade on Michail Antonio at the London Stadium, and he is literally the ideal striker for David Moyes’s system.
If West Ham sign Boulaye Dia in the summer transfer window, we will be in a much stronger position heading into the 2023/24 campaign.
