West Ham are now at the front of the queue to bring Tiago Pinto to the London Stadium this summer.
According to Mais Futebol, West Ham are in hot pursuit of Roma director of football Tiago Pinto, and club owner David Sullivan has already met with the 35-year-old.
Hammers boss David Moyes, head of recruitment Rob Newman and current Sporting Director Mark Noble will seemingly have some company next season when it comes to transfer decision making.
Tiago Pinto is someone who West Ham have been linked with over the past week or so.
And it seems as though Sullivan is now really ramping up his pursuit of the Roma DOF…
West Ham lead race for Tiago Pinto
Mais Futebol claim that the 35-year-old moving to the London Stadium this summer is a ‘strong possibility’.
However, it is claimed that remaining with Roma is still an option for Pinto.
I just find all this talk of West Ham appointing a new director of football really strange.
Is it just me who thinks it’s a ploy from Sullivan to push Moyes out of the club, without needing to pay him out for the remainder of his contract?
Mark Noble only took up his role as sporting director back in January, and Rob Newman has been here for just over 18 months.
It’s like all of this change behind the scenes is a boiling pot of water just waiting boil over and spill out. Changes are clearly afoot at the London Stadium.
Tiago Pinto arriving at West Ham could cause a domino effect as far as I’m concerned though, and cause certain people to exit the club. I could be wrong but it will be interesting to wait and see what happens with the whole situation.
