Newcastle join West Ham in race to sign Samuel Chukwueze
Estadio Deportivo have shared some bad news for the Hammers, with the Magpies allegedly eyeing up a move to bring the 23-year-old attacker to St James’ Park this summer.
Newcastle nearly have Champions League football secured for next season, and their finances are far superior to ours, so there will surely be only one winner in the race for the Nigeria international’s signature.
He’s not an orthodox centre-forward. He can play anywhere along the front-line, and is a really exciting young talent.
The 23-year-old has exceptional pace and possess terrific movement according to well known scouting website Breaking The Lines. Meanwhile, All Nigeria Soccer describe him as one of La Liga’s most dangerous wingers and ESPN have labelled him as ‘unreal’.
He has bagged 13 goals and 11 assists in 46 games for Villarreal so far this season (Transfermarkt).
Chukwueze’s raid speed and direct playing style would offer West Ham something that we do not currently possess in the final third.
Goal claim that he could be available for around €50 million (£44 million) this summer, and I believe that that fee would represent very good value indeed for the Hammers.
However, Newcastle chasing the signing of Samuel Chukwueze in the summer transfer window will obviously throw a real spanner in the works for West Ham.
