Former West Ham striker Andy Carroll looked delighted to join the Hammers‘ fans for their clash with AZ Alkmaar on Thursday, and even laughed along when a full stand of supporters joked about him ‘sniffing’ their drugs during the game.
Carroll spent seven years at West Ham between 2012 and 2019, racking up 142 appearances for the Premier League outfit.
Despite departing the club four years ago, Carroll proved he still had a soft spot for the Irons by travelling to the Netherlands for their Europa League Conference semi-final second leg to be with the fans.
The 34-year-old was filmed getting the party started in the build-up to kick-off as he started songs outside the stadium, and he was still in a celebratory mood when he got inside the venue.
Footage has emerged of a whole section of away supporters jokingly singing ‘Andy Carroll, he’s sniffed all our gear!’

The clip starts with Carroll playing on his phone, but after hearing what the fans were singing about, the striker starts to laugh and then begins to film the chant himself while also posing for a selfie with the supporters.
The West Ham fans would have plenty more to sing about as the night went on, with David Moyes’ side securing a 1-0 second leg win to wrap up a 3-1 aggregate victory and book their place in next month’s Europa Conference League final.
Pablo Fornals’ injury-time strike sparked jubilant scenes in the away end, although the atmosphere quickly changed after the final whistle when West Ham fans were attacked by Dutch hooligans.

This led to several West Ham players rushing over to protect their families, with midfielder Flynn Downes filmed throwing punches as he attempted to fend off someone moving towards the away fans.
UEFA have since started investigating the incident, while AZ Alkmaar have issued an apology to West Ham.
Whether the horrifying scenes at full-time put Carroll off joining the West Ham fans for the final remains to be seen, but the forward, who now plays for Reading, will have to make a decision quickly as prices are only rising for the trip to Prague.
West Ham have only been allocated 4,890 tickets for the match, and the cheapest direct flights are already priced at £1,100.
