Uefa in ridiculous position
So Uefa may consider banning Declan Rice, Said Benrahma, Flynn Downes and Michail Antonio from European competition, because of their actions following the behaviour of the idiot AZ Alkmaar supporters storming the family end of the ground.
According to the Daily Telegraph, the suggestion is that UEFA may wait until after the final to impose sanctions but if they are going to charge Alkmaar supporters for essentially committing the same act, they’re left with little option to do the same with the players involved.
Ridiculous !
And let’s remember Alkmaar have offered an immediate apology for the behaviour of the ultras who attempted to invade the area containing players’ families and friends!
This is more than likely to spark a huge backlash in football circles as it would set a remarkable precedent moving forward and without doubt alienate the ineffectual UEFA even more than they currently are.
A big rethink is required if this is indeed on their minds!
