Everton will be sweating as David Moyes makes nine West Ham changes for the Leeds clash at the London Stadium.
After setting up a first European final in 47 years, West Ham attentions now turn to Leeds United in the Premier League.
And Everton will be willing the Hammers to victory after their draw with Wolves officially sealed West Ham’s top flight status on Saturday.
It is now two from three to drop between Leeds, Everton and Leicester.
And West Ham will have a big say on who follows Southampton into the Championship as they play Leeds on Sunday and Leicester in the last game of the campaign.
Many Everton fans will have been hoping West Ham went out of Europe on Thursday night, fearing progression to the Europa Conference League final would likely mean their old boss David Moyes making sweeping changes against Leeds.
Predicted: Everton sweating as David Moyes makes nine West Ham changes for Leeds clash
Everton fans will be tuning into the game hoping West Ham can do them a massive favour. But fully aware Moyes will rest key stars for the return of former Hammers boss Sam Allardyce.
Well it looks like there will be mixed news for Sean Dyche and the Toffees at the London Stadium for today’s 1.30pm kick-off.
Especially after Moyes admitted he is not afraid to make changes for Leeds despite his former allegiances to Everton.
We predict Everton will be sweating as Moyes makes nine West Ham changes for the Leeds clash.
The good news for Leeds and bad news for Everton is that striker Michail Antonio hobbled off against AZ Alkmaar and is extremely unlikely to be risked – certainly from the start – against the Elland Road outfit.
He will be replaced by Danny Ings up front in change number one.
In goal, number one Lukasz Fabianski returns in place of cup ‘keeper Alphonse Areola in change number two.
Rice AND Lanzini home farewell?
We think there will be a rejig in defence with Vladimir Coufal coming back in after injury to replace Thilo Kehrer at right-back for West Ham change number three.
Angelo Ogbonna will come back in alongside Nayef Aguerd with Kurt Zouma rested in change four.
Emerson will replace Aaron Cresswell at right-back in change number five.
We think Declan Rice will start in what is all but officially his farewell home game but then be brought off to a standing ovation midway through the second half.
Flynn Downes will start alongside Rice in place of Tomas Soucek in change six. And Thursday night’s hero Pablo Fornals will start in place of Said Benrahma in change seven.
Everton hoping for a favour from old boss Moyes
Lucas Paqueta was in a class of his own on Thursday night and put a big shift in for the team with some lung-busting runs. So it would be a surprise to see him start. We expect Manuel Lanzini to play in his place from the beginning – in what is also likely to be his West Ham farewell.
The final change will see Maxwel Cornet get a rare start in place of Jarrod Bowen.
Moyes may decide to rest first choice central defensive pairing Zouma and Aguerd with Kehrer partnering Ogbonna. But he faces a big decision on that front.
Predicted West Ham starting XI to face Leeds:
Fabianski, Coufal, Aguerd/Kehrer, Ogbonna, Emerson, Downes, Rice, Lanzini, Fornals, Cornet, Ings.
