Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal are one of two English clubs to be kept abreast of Galatasaray’s conditions for a deal for Sacha Boey, with the Super Lig club asking for €25m (£21.7m) during meetings in London.
The Telegraph write that the Gunners are considering a move for Boey, who is understood to be open to a transfer to the Premier League. Again, the suggestion is that Galatasaray want around £20m.
The Evening Standard confirm that Arsenal are interested in Boey, and that full-back is an area where the club are looking to strengthen this summer.
The Daily Mail report that Arsenal are eyeing a move for Boey, though they could face competition from within the Premier League.
Galatasaray chief Erden Timur was in England this week for talks over summer transfers.
Both The Telegraph and the Evening Standard add that Arsenal could also return for Ivan Fresneda as an alternative target, having looked at the Real Valladolid man in January.
Arsenal still hold an interest in Fresneda ahead of the summer window.
But for now, it looks like Boey is the primary player of interest. The next step will be to see how Arsenal respond to Galatasaray’s valuation of the right-back.
Boey has made 31 appearances for Galatasaray so far this season, and he’s a former France u20 international.
We know Arsenal are looking to strengthen on the right-hand side of defence, with Takehiro Tomiyasu and William Saliba’s injuries exposing how short the squad is on that side.
But given Ben White and Tomiyasu are both capable of playing at centre-back or at right-back, Arsenal have some flexibility in the market.
Whether they sign a central defender or a right-back, the other position can be covered by moving the existing players around.
