Latest West Ham transfer news & rumours
The latest West Ham transfer news varies from the semi believable to ridiculous as the season draws to a close.
Quite who is bidding for these supposed transfer targets is anyone’s guess given the uncertainty at the club. In short we’re awaiting the appointment of a football director and don’t know what the future holds for David Moyes.
However the lack of a cohesive recruitment team hasn’t stopped the sports media from speculating on potential signings. According to numerous sources it’s full steam ahead for West Ham and here are a couple of the potential candidates.
Alassane Plea
The French media are reporting that West Ham have made contact to sign Borussia Monchengladbach winger. It has been claimed that the Hammers are eyeing a move to bring the French attacker to the London Stadium this summer.
It’s difficult to take this rumour seriously given the age profile of the player. Plea is 30 years old and every inch the journeyman footballer. He’s had a decent enough season on the Bundesliga with two goals and nine assists but it’s a no for me.
Fabio Carvalho
The Merseyside press and Sky are suggesting Carvalho is no longer part of Liverpool’s plans for the future.
As a result, West Ham could United move for him on loan. We were very keen on bringing him to the London Stadium before Liverpool signed him in May of last year.
Carvalho is a talented player and operates on the left side of midfield but we’d face stiff competition.
Out of the two players listed I’d prefer Carvalho. It wasn’t long ago that he was being hailed as one of the brightest upcoming talents in the UK.
